Are these official, or just Pinky-style pretties?  I reccognise the Gisele one...but I've not seen any of these elsewhere before.  Not that it makes much difference; I'm getting that Arucard one if I have to kill for him X3 not that I know how to paint him or anything...

these are mostly kits that fan artists made that e2046 has made copies of. not the most ethical way to get them, but it's darn cheap... if they did that to one of my customs i'd be pissed!!  ...but they didn't, so...  i'm a hypocrite  though, i think the artist only sells a limited amount at a special event, and then you can't get the kits anymore. so esentially, e2046 is keeping the kit alive, but i doubt the artist gets a cut of that profit. maybe i'll ask on the e2046 forums...  Vance Project has made a few kits: snowboarder, yukata (sitting and standing, from before they were released to the general market), and german tank commander. then they did a few weapons sets before they released the WF set of the good child.

so anyway, you buy the kit, then paint it and put it together.  most of the time i just yoink the pieces that i want for my pinkys and paint those, and the rest of the parts get neglected  . tis' the life of a pinky!

e2046 usually pays a good deal to get ahold of an original kit to make copies of, so I suppose that would be the artists cut? XP It's still not very fair, but we're also looking at trademarked/copyrighted characters, so~. They should be lucky such stuff is even allowed to be sold where they are. (Because if you tried that kind of thing with something like a Disney character, heaven help you)

Ooh, I really like that Dizzy kit, don't know what it's from, but I like the hair! Someone said they don't like that site, since they can be considered bootlegs, but I think the main problem with fakeies are the paint, and since you paint these yourself, despite being bootleg, they can still look real. one thing I like, though, when it comes to the doujin kits, boys boys boys!  (Whoever that Lelouch is, he sure looks cool!)

Yes, the site is rathe bootleg, but it's okay if you know what you're doing when it comes to pinky parts and stuff. (not to mention I'm sure most of us would buy the original garage kits if we could, but since they're released in such few numbers and usually only to japan at conventions, well..)

i kind of agree with you, sonja. if these weren't limited kits then i might have been a bit perturbed, but since there's so few in circulation it's nice to have them available. you can't really tell if they're bootleg or real anyhow, it's not like getting a bootleg risa or eva set!

i actually ordered 2 'normal' sailor moon kits, too. it's nice to see them offered there, even though the kits went out of circulation a long, long, looong time ago.

Yes, that's exactly why I buy them. Otherwise, I would never get such a kit.

The original artist can always release more of a kit if they wanted to, but they usually don't, and this is our only chance.

And you're right, it's not like buying a bootleg pinky, especially since a lot of customs are made using official parts, anyhow. ^^; So in essence, customizers making some kits are also just re-casting and bootlegging a few original pinky parts, and just mixing them in with their own.

It doesn't bother me that they are essentially bootlegs. They are affordable and basically the only way I'd be able to get these kits since I'm a cheapskate. And it's not as if I'll be re-selling and trying to pass them off as the real thing. They are for my own personal use.

Same. I'm actually getting a few of them because I want them for my own personal customs, really. ^^; Some of the pieces are just so nice..
