LoggedMy Japanese is not as good as it used to be and I can't read kanji anymore without the furugana above it.
I love Pinky St tho. Is this game good? What's it about? how do you play? Is there a lot of customization/replay value? Opinions! Tips! Ideas! I welcome all.

Logged Don't worry. You don't need to know any japanese to play or successfully beat the game. I know because I don't know a lick o' Japanese. They have conversations before each match that you can't understand, but you can press start to by pass them. Or you can watch the gestures and try and figure out what they are talking about. I had a ton of fun and plan to buy the next one. You seem to never stop earning things. I love that game. I'm starting to ramble again... aren't I?

Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?

LoggedThere is no Kanji in the game, which kind of leads me to believe this game was intended for a younger audience... but anyways, having no kanji at all makes it a little difficult for me to understand what they are saying, because all those extra hiraganas confuse me... haha~ I always have to read it outloud so it makes more sense. Basically though, you don't need to know how to read Japanese.... just make sure to get familiar with what each option lets you do... ^__^ I still get confused with some of the buttons... It's a dancing game, so you just go to the various places on the map, and chat to whoever it may be that you'll be dueling (or push START to skip) and then you listen to the music and go~! Look up on Youtube for what the game looks like... http://youtube.com/results?search_query=kira+kira+pinky+street&search=Search

LoggedI have absolutely no understanding of Japanese at all, and this game was fairly easy for me to grasp.
If you've played games before, you can use common knowledge to navigate the selections, such as, knowing that when you are asked to save, "no" is always highlighted while "yes" must be selected.
Also, there are many sight clues. To change outfits, select the button that looks like clothes. For dance practice, select the button that looks like someone dancing, and to save, the button that looks like the game card. I have read the translations before, but it's really just chat and filler dialogue, that is not necessary to enjoy the game. If you press "start" you can skip the dialogue altogether (which I do frequently).
I have Kirakira Music Hour, and I loved it so much I just bought Music Night off of ebay. If you like rhythm/music games, you should definately think about getting it, it's a great game, and tons of fun. Don't worry about understanding the dialogue, if a sixteen-year-old like me can get through the game without it, anyone can.

LoggedI have both Kira Kira Music Hour and Kira Kira Music Night and I found both games to be easy enough to play without any translations. Music Night has three difficulty ratings compared to Music Hour which has two and the second game is a bit more difficult than the first.
The main point of both games is really collecting clothes and accessories. You can only win certain items from certain areas of the city. Each section of the city has a different color and when you match together different outfits, each outfit name is labeled with a color and I believe number if I remember correctly. Different color combinations gives you extra bonus skills when you dance so that you can earn more money. You can also collect more than one of the same item and you can sell your items at the stores in the different sections of the city.
The game has lasting playability because even after you beat all the rival dancers, you can start the game again with your character and all her clothes so that you can try to win all the other clothes and items.

LoggedSomething of an old thread here... but it's a good opportunity to mention that everyone and anyone should get both games.
