LoggedI was usually careful. kept things in little boxes. It was a mess, but at least I knew where it all was.
Where as my young step sister right now is so spoiled that she doesn't take care of her things. She doesn't care if she loses it because she knows her grandma will buy her something new if she whines enough. -.-

Whoa. If I whined like that, would get seriously bashed at. O_o You'd be surprised how loud voices can get.... anyways, I think pinkies were intended for younger girls, (8-10) but spawned with pre-teens and up. (I'm talking 10 to like, a mother's age) They do have a lot of puny parts that can get lost or even swallowed! I would cry if my lil' siblings ate a pinky...

LoggedYes. We've tried disciplining the kid, but that's another story. @.@
It's amazing how quickly something cute can spawn a different target group than expected. ^^

Maintaining the collection!

LoggedI always figured pinkys were geared towards 'older kids' (read: 20-somethings who refuse to believe that grown-ups can't have toys!) While the cute-ness would certainly appeal to girls of all ages, the tiny size of pinky parts would really only make them appropriate for kids at/approaching their Tween years. My BF did have me order a pinky for his little sister one Christmas, but she really doesn't do much with it (She usually just hangs with Photogirl's pinkys.) I think, being that they are both non-poseable, and fall apart when handled too roughly, makes them less appealing for girls who want to change outfits, then walk the dolls through a shoebox mall. They're really better geared toward older folk who take time to 'play' with their outfits, then just display them on the corner of the desk and get back to work before the boss catches them pinky-izing.

LoggedMy mama does daycare in our house so I have grown up with little kids almost all my life. I know they like them and they are all under 10. I let 2 of the girls my mama watches play with my pinkys one was 2/3 years old and the other was a 7ish. The 2/3 year old was a little rough and kept dropping them on the floor. The 7ish one was making the weirdest combos, but she never made a pinky stand she would lay them down on the table. When I was little I was really bad with my toys I would alway lose them and my dog ate a lot of my toys, but my one friend who is a year younger then me she had the little polly pockets and all her toys were in such good condition. I guess pinkys are ok depending on the kid. I would perfer if they stayed in Japan, but I want to see them at more anime/Japanese/Asian stores in the US.

LoggedI think Pinkies appeal to all age groups. There are so many different styles of clothing and faces and hair, everyone is bound to find one they like. I'd love to bring a Pinky to school with me but I'd be kinda embarassed because no one knows that I collect dolls or figures except one kid who does too. Maybe if there was show-and-tell I'd bring one of my girls in! I'm sure everyone would like them, plus it wouldn't be as awkward if I had a reason for bringing them in

LoggedPinkies aren't really aimed at a specific age group, I think. My little sisters, ages five and seven have some and love them. I love them, and I'm twelve, my big sister likes them, she's fourteen. And there are tons of you that are adults who like them. there was show-and-tell I'd bring one of my girls in! I'm sure everyone would like them, plus it wouldn't be as awkward if I had a reason for bringing them in My little sister brought in one of her pinkies for show and tell once! I think it was Moe. She never told me how the rest of the class reacted, though.

LoggedI've always been pretty carefull with my toys so I think I would have loved Pinkys when I was four and I wouldn't have had any problems. I'm 13 now and I have five Pinkys; I've managed not to lose any parts.

LoggedI think it's a little hard to say who Pinkies are for. I'm in my 20's, and when my mom sees my Pinkies, she aways says my kids will like them. So obviously she thinks they are for little kids. Like others have said, while the cuteness of Pinkies appeals to people of all ages, I don't think really little kids (like, 8 or below) would be able to keep them all together. However, any person who can appreciate more the collectible aspect than the play aspect would do well with them.
