LoggedHi all, I have a Samsung Didimax A6 that my mother brought me as a Birthday present in 2005. I took photo's with it new years day and it was a great little camera just like it always has been. I switched it on this morning to take pictures of Pucchi (yay she came) and my LCD screen was completly black, all I could see was the little frame in the middle and the flas icons, battery icons and such. I thought never mind and took some pictures using the viewfinder thingie instead. I went to put the pics on my computer and show everyone my Pucchi but when I opened my pictures on the pc they were completly black! I don't know what could be wrong with it. I've never dropped it or anything like that and it was fine just days ago. Does anyone know what I can do about it or will I have to go buy myself a new Mr Snappy

LoggedI don't think it's broken... Did you maybe accidently press any buttons on the camera and change the settings? It once happened to me, I don't remember what I pressed, but suddenly the screen was all black... Have you checked the manual that came with the camera? Otherwise I can't think of anything that might have happened to the camera, since you didn't drop it.

LoggedOn my camera there is a little round silver button that if I press it the screen goes black on a normal camera setting, and pressing it again the screen goes back to normal. Maybe that's what yours is? Try pressing a few buttons when you go to take pictures, maybe that's all it is

LoggedI've checked everything I can think of My camera settings are on a really stiff dial and its been set to auto all the time, I did try taking a photo and every setting though and still no joy. Its just always pitch black. I also tried gently cleaning the lens with a anti static cloth and tried changing the batteries not sure why I thought new batteries would help, lol. I,ve tried everything thing I can think of now

LoggedSounds like the only thing left to do is maybe take it to an electronics store and have them check it out

LoggedSounds like an issue with the lens cap. But I doubt that, if its a digital. If the pics are still black when they get to your comp then it cant be an issue with the screen. Maybe you have a light sensitivity option that has been set to manual and is maybe set at its minimum. You could test this by taking a pic of a light globe, thats on. Otherwise, it could very well be broke.

LoggedThe same thing happened to me! I have no clue what happened to it too. The screen is all black, all pictures show up black... even when I look through the viewfinder, it's all black. Luckily, I do have another camera, but still. Stupid technology.

LoggedIf all the set-ups are correct, and it still doesn't work, I suggest taking it to the shop asap, especially if you still have the warranty active. I had the same problem a few months ago and the company (Canon) told me that it was the sensor. Apparently, the particular sensor had a factory defect which acted up years after I bought the camera so they fixed it for free. And I would've never known if I just trashed the camera without visiting the official repair center.
