I thought we could help each other to learn the new forum features. Let's post them here, any tricks, tips, etc you've found while posting.

So..


Did you know you can access more smileys in the "posting window" by clicking on the "more" link following the last shown smiley?

Did you know that you can assign a special icon to your subject, which will show in the topic list on any forum? In the post window, click on Mesage icon "standard" drop-down list, which is just above the formatting buttons in the "posting window".  You have a choice of 12 different icons. (click on one to see preview)

Did you know when you send a PM, you can now include multiple users on one message?

Did you know that when you go through the Member List, you can now search for a particular member (rather than going page by page)?

did you know by adding your age in your profile, you get added to the calendar

Did you know you could make your messages move?

did you know that if someone posts a message in the same thread while you're typing your reply, you will be notified? 

Did you know that if you edit your profile, you can put a comment in to display under your avatar?

Oh yeah, tt one. I thought it's a useful feature, esp. if you are replying to ure own thread, and you don't want to miss out anyone. 

do you know that the your avatar for this forum can exceed 7 KB now? lol

Did you know that there's a little icon under everyone's username that tells you whether or not that person is currently online?  Very cool!

Also, did you know that when you insert an emoticon into your post, you need to make sure you add a space after it if you're typing something after to make sure the icon shows up as the icon and not the code?  <-- did that make sense to anyone besides me?  I'll try to explain:

If I'm typing --> blah blah blah --> and insert an emoticon, it looks like this right after I insert the emoticon
If I then keep typing without adding that extra space after the emoticon, it looks like this:
when it should look like:
So the code should look like:

So, make sure the emoticon code has a space on either side or the icon won't show as an icon.

Did you know you can view your statistics by going to:

Profile>(Scroll down)>Show General Statistics for this member

It shows you a buncha neat things including how long you spend on the pinky-street forum, where you post more often, and what time of day you usually log on.

Did you know you can turn other peoples signatures and avatars on and off (among other things) by going to:

Profile>Look and layout preferences>Don't show users sigantures

Perhaps I've been staring at the computer too long, but how do you add the sentence that is appearing under people's avatars? I've looked and looked under the 'Profile' section, but don't see where I can add this. 

Katya, go to 'Profile' --> 'Forum Profile Information' --> type what you want in the 'Personal Text' box under your avatar pic.
