I don't think you'll have too much problems with shoes ^^;  (if nothing else, ask people who own DoTs on DoA).

I have an SD-13 boy and the two Luts boots I've put on him both had extra space in them . . . .  You do want to be careful if you buy luts shoes, though, as some are too small to fit any but a Luts doll (SD-13 feet are actually a tad bigger . . .).  It all depends on how long his foot actually is ^^;;;

Can't wait to see the clothing you make, and congradulations :D

(ha ha, I also want Sha sometime XD)

I thought they looked similar. I was comparing the heads in the body part section. My boyf LOVES Sha. I think it's the robes they put on him. It was so cute, he kept staring at Sha. He really wanted one, kept looking at him. But he wanted that outfit, too. I like Sha a lot too, but I think my first love is Camine. Very Happy Love !

I would love to have Sha, Shall, Camine and Lahoo, personally. But lets not go there.. Sigh...  Very Happy Congrats, Rilly! You're so lucky. For the work they do on the painting, 40 dollars extra isn't so bad. The nature of BJDs makes them expensive though, even though for what you're getting they are a good deal, yes, that's true.

But I know, as good as a deal they are, workmanship, quality... I still can't fork over half a grand in one go. Not unless I win the lottery.  Dammit !

Sha is gorgeous... I was staring at him today, then saw this thread was still alive and wow you got him! Heart Heart Heart

I'm curious as to what he looks like in reality. I think that Dream of Doll website has a STUNNING photographer... they make EVERYTHING look good  Very Happy

I wish they sold the outfits they're pictured with too.  Sigh...

I also think they may photoshop their images a tad bit  Nervous  Though I can't say for sure.

Yeah possibly  Nervous
Maybe bumping up the contrast levels to make the colours look really vibrant, and adding a touch more softness to the skin using blur tools etc.

Although they do say you have to pay extra for 'make-up' ... wonder how much that costs.

I thought it said 40 USD for makeup, but maybe I'm completely spazzing out and that's not it at all.  Nervous

I don't know if they photoshop their pics. I think they definitely do for lighting and contrast but a lot of photographers do. I know I do to some of my blah pics. But I don't think they airbrush anything but of course I can't be sure.

the outfits you could have gotten on Y!J for the tender Shall and Sha but only limited sets were sold in Japan and the ones that went on Y!J went for -a lot-

I'm going to try and sew similar designs (though not in white). Luckily I have a sewing machine and access to button hole sewers and invisible sticher at my old work place...plus they know how to make patterns and stuff so I can ask for help whenever :)

My Sha should be here in oh...prolly 6 weeks...maybe 7 who knows. gives me time to practice. I'll definately be taking pictures for sure...going to buy him a little couch too and some spare clothes just in case though.

As for the pics on the site, they're pro, and either cross-processed, used a spiffy camera filter or photoshopped for those bluish ones...maybe have been tinted but not likely. In this case probably heavily processed in Photoshop. Otherwise it's just the white backdrop and sufficient lighting using particular bulbs of filters. Use a more omni lighting as well so you don't get those heavy shadows.

woo DODs!!  Confetti
The only problem that I would have with them, or to any other BJD owner, is that, like serendipity, the male dolls are a little taller than, say, Luts or SD.
Shoes are the worst problem, their feet measure in at 7.5cm, where other dolls are usually around 7.3cm.
and their shoes are sparce and hard to come buy. buuttt... DOD clothes usually come in sets and are very cheap!  Cute smile but they sell out pretty fast too....
Me and Ben are currently making clothes for DODs by adapting Luts and Volks patterns to make them a bit longer!
I can't wait until my Lahoo arrives!  Very Happy

I love DOD, they are one my favourite BJD companies. I own a Twing-key called Alessa, and she is wonderful.

The DOD photos may be edited slightly but I think its mainly down to lighting and filters.  Thinking The doll in person are just as stunning. I find my lovely Alessa photos best outside in natural light.  Cute smile
