Avatar is a picture that displays under your nickname whenever you make a post. You can post without it, but most members opt for having one, one of the reasons being that you are more recognisable.
First, you will need a picture. That should be a .jpg or a .gif. Now, go to "My Profile" and scroll down, the Avatar section is on the bottom of the page.
You now have 2 choices, you can upload your picture to pinky-street.com server or you can find a place of your own to host the picture for you.
If you are uploading the image to our server, the picture has to be of these dimensions: 150 pixels wide by 200 pixels tall at maximum and the size can be up to 7KB only. This is a restriction forced by the software and it's not something I can change.

If you have an image editing software (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, etc) they will allow you to scale down the image and play with different settings, like quality of jpg to achieve the size allowed.
If your image is not displaying, check the size and file format to see if that's what's causing the problem.

If you opt for hosting your image somewhere else, you are not limited in file size, but please be aware that the bigger the picture size load longer and slower, so those with slower connections suffer.

Also, please be aware of our forum's
guidelines for Avatar dimensions.
I hope this will help with Avatar problems. If you need more help, please post your questions/comments in this thread and I'll update this section with new informtion.
Signature can be an image or text that will display underneath your post, separated from it by a line. Before you add a signature, please familiarise yourself with the
guidelines and please follow them. "Repeat offenders" will get their signatures disabled all together.

Go to "My Profile" and scroll down about half way, until you find the "Profile Information" section. For text signature, just type in the text you want. To insert an image, it has to exist on the web somewhere, not just on your local computer. Enclose the URL within the image tags: [img][/img]. For example:
[img]http://www.yoursite.com/images/mysig.jpg[/img]
