It's cute how everyone is so worried about accidentally breaking the rules!  

I think that shows what a great community we have here that the members fret about the little things like an avatar being a few pixels over the recommended size. It proves that we all care about each other and want to be as courteous as we can be!  

I'm sure our darling Inga is more worried about members breaking the rules on purpose -- for example, saying mean things to hurt someone's feelings or refusing to resize images after she's asked them to do so -- than accidentally doing so.

Edit: I wanna be courteous too! My icon is now slightly smaller than she used to be...

A nice set of rules to follow that also dont make you feel restricted since we do most of it anyway.

I do have to say the thing that bugs me the most on forum are HUGE sigs that waste so much space and slow load time. But thats not really a problem here.

speaking of sigs - inga I love what you did with the sprites! so many Moes!

For a minute, I thought my eyes were playing tricks at me. Or I thought there was something wrong with my PC. Great job, Inga!

Question about the signature though. I tried to add more sprites but was told my signature's too long. Did I do something wrongly somewhere?

Akane: was your signature way wider than mine?    Although, I don't think that would have any bearing, because you can put whatever you want in the signature box... I do vaguely remember having once a problem on some other board with my signature, where I put too much text in... hmm... if you still have problems, you could PM me with the text and we'll see if we can sort it out!

I've noticed a lot of people have been posting photos of Pinkys that they didn't take and not really giving proper credit. I've taken the problem up with Inga, but she left on vacation before it ever really got resolved.  While it's not my job to go around policing you guys, I didn't think it would hurt to remind everyone to read the rules if you haven't in a while, or if you've never taken the opportunity to do so before.  Specifially this part:

Images we find. Posting images of others here is fine, but please include their name (if you can) and definitely, without exceptions, include the link where you found it. It’s only fair to give credit when it’s due. A lot of Japanese Pinky fans are very protective of their photos, so please always make sure you link back to their site.

This does not mean that if you downloaded a picture and you don't know where you got it from, it is okay to post!  If you don't have the URL where the picture originally came from, DON'T POST IT.

Furthermore, I would like to remind everyone that hotlinking is rude and steals bandwidth from others.  If you want to post pictures, please upload to your own webspace first!  This isn't specifically in the rules, but it is a pet peeve of mine because I pay for my webspace and I know others do to.  Bandwidth theft can be a problem. If you don't have a webpage, there is a thread on finding places to host your images here.

I know most of you guys just want to share the cool customs and photos you've found on various (mostly Japanese) sites, but I don't want us getting a reputation as image thieves on the Japanese Pinky community.
