Rubbing Alcohol?

I was looking around my house to find that we don't have any 100% acetone like I've seen many people suggesting to take the paint of the pinkies. But we do have a few bottles of rubbing alcohol. Has anyone tried it, and does it work? The bottles I have are 91% isopropyl.

rubbing alcohol doesn't work and you can find 100% acetone based nail polish remover at Walgreens, Riteaid, or similar stores.

You can also get large cans of 100% acetone at the hardware store for fairly cheap. I haven't looked, but Wal-Mart probably carries it in the paint department.

Dont get too over enthusiastic and soak your pinky though, just a few drop and rub will do, and redo as necessary, or else it will affect the plastic integrity.

Rubbing alcohol might sterilize your work, but not so much in the removing paint department...

I got a bottle of nailpolish remover with 100% acetone from Walmart (in Canada, though I'm sure US one carry same stuff)...and it only cost about $3 for a fairly large bottle of it, so it shouldn't be too hard to score some.  Awesome!

Be very careful with pure acetone! It melts plastic! Dead
