I would think so as to do it yourself would almost cost you the same amount. But I'm no obitsu expert.

i geuss it is a good deal  ( this would be my first obitsu if i get it ) but i saw the muffin finished dolls on other sites not so good but all are cute theres a muffin doll that looks like a wizard ( so cute) but dont have the money     
hopefully my dog doesnt chew it up    at least ill have my dollfies if i dont get the muffin doll.

I got the head,body/wig/eyes from an Obitsu group order a friend did and it all came out to less than $30.00. ^__^
I wuv my Muffin. the big ears are love! Seems we have simular tastes.

sory i could not reply but yes i wuv muffin but yet again i am pausing the customizing until i get a bigger room right now i m only doing body changing and reroots (if i could finish since im sooooo  close ) its cuz right now im putting a skipper clone(wich is alot like skipper) into an obitsu body because she looks gothic but as soon as i finish i will post pix of him  ^0^

Any particular reason for choosing a JeNny body aside from the price? I have 2 JenNys and they don't even have bendy arms like Liccas, so if you can live without the obitsu joints, I would think it's more affordable and less trouble to get a standard doll body from you local toy store (Barbie or similar sized doll).
Though if you can wait and save up, obitsu bodies are really worth the price.

Hey I just though, you might be able to get something in-between with a Pullip/J-Doll body... They aren't as jointed and posable as obitsus, but it's still a world of difference compared to JeNnys (and other play-dolls). A lot of people are selling them around 5-10$ on forums.

That's because Pullip bodies break so easily. ><; They're cheap, but they're so easy to break.

Yeah, they are no obitsu, that's for sure. But some of my Pullips have stayed on type 3s for over a year and nothing broke, so it's not like they explode in your hands either. (Especially for holding something as light as a 1/6th head, I think they are a more interesting option than a play-doll body.)
